She is just a jewel as her namesake. I love to see her smile which she does so easily - and her giggles are precious music. She has sooo much energy that I would love to bottle up. She is loving going to church and learning about God both from there and from myself. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 143px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SkVRWijJ6oI/AAAAAAAAAKE/g_4ARcayXt8/s200/beach+1-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351773179872930434" />

Everyday she is supposed to look for and find someone to pray for. It's been neat to see her pray for her friends and others. (Two streets over there is a sign that says deaf child and she stated, "I know who I am going to pray for - the deaf child!")

God has called me into in interesting and fun journey with becoming a foster parent. Jade came to stay with me on June 2 and it's been exciting and yet frustrating at times. She is such a wonderful young lady who touches me daily. So why do I say frustrating? Well, I now understanding when amazing parents doubt whether they are doing a good job. I am constantly feeling that way. I got the care thing down...you know: the feeding, clothing, and keeping her safe. It's the molding/ training her up in the way of Christ that I constantly feel that I am not doing enough. Every night before bed I read to her - first a novel and then from the Bible. It's been an honor and joy to teach her about God and she is learning sooo much. I just wonder if it's enough and am I doing it right.
At church, my pastor states that he wants to live in such a way that if God doesn't show up, that he's done for. When I heard that it became my heart and I desired to be in that place. I sooo feel that I am there now though it's a scary place but also a safe place - right where God wants me. All that to say, I know it's frustrating but I also know that God is going to help me. I need to trust that and live it daily.
If you come across this - please say a prayer for me: that I stay in the center of God's will and at the same time not royally mess up this sweet child placed in my care. ha!

** Update: Danielle and Hailey never came to live with me - they were placed in a different home. Just not God's timing.

New Journey

Well my new journey of fostering has begun. On Feb 5, 2009 I received my foster license. Shortly after wards the first set of kids arrived. Three year old Micheal and his 7 y/o brother Derek came for a weekend for shelter status. They were a lot of fun but gosh a lot of work, especially the 3 y/o. Yet, it was definitely a confirmation that is something that God wants me to do.
Easter weekend, 5 y/o Lily stayed with me as a respite stay for 4 nights. She was a lot of fun and we did some fun activities like an Easter carnival, going to the beach to see a sunset and play in the sand (no sunset but the sand and water was fun), dying Easter eggs, making a bunny cake, and participating in 3 egg hunts at church.

And now.... God is placing two little girls in my care tomorrow afternoon.They will be with me anywhere from a month to like 2 years. They are 7 and 8 and are just adorable. I was emailed pics of them and they are cute as a button. I had been saying that I only wanted to take care of one child for a while - until I learn to deal with DCF and being a mom. However, I think God had other plans and things He wanted to teach me. This last weekend at church my pastor Todd said something that God really convicted me about. He stated that I need to live in such a way that if God doesn't show up I'm done. I know that I don't live with that faith but I so want that kind of deep faith. I started praying that I would get there and well I think this is His way of teaching me it. I, in my mind, thought I could only handle one child- but that doesn't keep me totally, absolutely relying on Him. Now I am going to have to and I know that He is going to show up and be with me and help me. Being in the center of His will is such a safe place to be and I am excited to walk there.

Tomorrow Danielle and Hailey arrive. I am excited and scared. It's going to be a great ride. Let's get started!

New pictures

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SY7CqP1nRgI/AAAAAAAAAJk/xcNa1R10zrA/s200/a+rudy+and+i-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300387842523350530" />

Here are some new pics of my baby boy, of my bowlegged baby boy as I affectionately call him now (though you can't see that in these pics.) Actually it's really funny how he will sit and just looks bow legged.

I love this pic as this is how my sweet boy will look at me (and yes he melts my heart - Look at those eyes!). <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SY7Cy7SQ7BI/AAAAAAAAAJs/yj7VuZplty0/s200/a+Rudy+looking+at+me+4x4+low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300387991625198610" /> He is just a lover - I woke up in the middle of the night today (ok well he woke me up) and he cuddled with me and wanted to be talked to. So sweet.

Toys - Boy does he love them. As mentioned, he has a ton of them yeah he is spoiled) and he plays with just about all of them. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SY7C8TVn1MI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/Sq2e_kR2nBw/s200/a+toy+1-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300388152700556482" /> This is a new toy I gave him (to keep him occupied while I worked on the computer). He loves it! He especially loves it when they squeak and he knows how to make every one of them squeak, over and over and over. And he loves to play fetch. He will bring it back to me over and over and over again. I bet I have sat and thrown his toy 30 times in a row and he still wants more. I tire out long before he does! Love it!

Oh - he is teething and I find little teeth everywhere - it's hilarious! (Yeah, I was actually going to take a pic of one and post it but I thought I would spare you.)

Lessons from Rudy: Was thinking as I was cuddling with Rudy in the middle of the night, "Boy I love this dog. Guess this is how a mom loves her child - with such a deep love." <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SY7DEJhPSJI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/KLHiAaSUhOk/s200/a+curled+up-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300388287503878290" /> (Though I am guessing its a little deeper and stronger.) Even though he frustrates me to death sometimes, I sure love him. Then I began thinking - this must be how God loves me (and so much more) - deeply, tenderly, unconditionally,with great strength. Even though I probably frustrate Him ever so much at times, He still just loves me and probably has soooo much more patience with me than I do with Rudy. Thank you, God.

Things I am loving right now...

Well I am joining in with everyone else and doing the list of things I loving right now. Rudy - You know there is just something about that puppy smell and puppy hiccups. He has been so fun and has helped my heart heal from losing Remi. Plus he is just so darn cute! I just can't stop buying him toys - he could be up to like 20+ he is currently playing with, with about 20+ waiting for him!

2. Reading my Bible - Spending time reading this precious book and hearing fresh from God has been sweet. I learn new things each time I read.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 160px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SW_u6lqPOXI/AAAAAAAAAI0/A4biGtTDfW8/s200/suisse+mocha.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291710777492715890" />
3. Suisse Mocha - Ok, it is just stinking cold outside right now and on days like this I just love a cup of Suisse Mocha. It's a splash of coffee flavoring amidst a lot of chocolate flavoring. Yum. It's also been great to take to church to help warm up between services.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 90px; height: 67px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SW_qJqwWbsI/AAAAAAAAAIM/knJssO0Dfog/s200/summit-brown.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291705539000430274" />
4. Summit - Speaking of church, I am so enjoying the privilege of attending an amazing church with amazing leaders. I have never been so challenged by a church weekly like I am at Summit. God is truly moving and changing lives there. It has been a blessing to go there. I help out in the sound booth, doing Media shout where I control all that goes on the screens during the service (words to the songs, videos, etc.) and I have gotten to know the pastors some. That also has been neat to meet these amazing men and their families - men that are just ordinary guys seeking God with all their heart. Great examples! Go check out their web site: www.summitlife.com

5. Gulf Coast Town Center and Coconut Point Mall - Yeah, shopping centers! Two of them! and so close to my house. For the longest time I had to go all the way up to Edison Mall but no longer!

6. My job and my class - I know I mentioned it in earlier posts, but I am just so grateful for my job. I enjoy teaching daily, touching and changing lives, plus having a 2-week Christmas vacation rocks! I am very blessed with 19 wonderful children who come to school ready to learn and are so well behaved.

7. Facebook - It's so fun to take a little glimpse into people's lives and what they are up to. I have gotten in touch with people I haven't talked to in years and literally decades. Seeing pictures of old and new friends has been great. And the status updates just crack me up.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 99px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SW_uSof4OzI/AAAAAAAAAIs/hdjhklVPsOk/s200/d+baldacci.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291710091059804978" />
8. Reading - I just love novels - I get lost in them. Recently I finished The Shack, which was a great book. I am now reading the new David Baldacci novel. I can sit for hours and read.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 136px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SW_scuxyVGI/AAAAAAAAAIc/Tdn2XgJ3NVw/s200/lahaina-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291708065520964706" />
9. Sunsets - They are my favorite, anytime of the year and anywhere. I love the pic at the top of my blog - that was in Africa. This one was in Hawaii.

10. Swimming at LA Fitness - Not sure if I am technically "loving" swimming as it is exercise and I would much rather be sitting on my couch, but when I go I am enjoying it. I never knew how incredibly hard swimming laps was! oh my! But I have a goal each time I go and almost always meet it and sometimes pass it!

11. Fresh squeezed OJ - Mom gave me a ton of my favorite, honeybell oranges, and I have been squeezing them every morning (and some evenings). Gosh is it good!

Puppy graduation!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SWVdk85i4UI/AAAAAAAAAHM/UNEP4NstwNQ/s200/1-with+cap+-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288736226820677954" />
He did it! Rudy graduated from puppy class! We took an 8 week puppy training at Pet Smart and tonight was graduation.
Oh was it fun. First, he had to show off all that he knows:
There were a total of seven commands:
Come
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SWVfCUwbd-I/AAAAAAAAAHU/cYp6_F820Ug/s200/1-come+-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288737830952728546" />
Look.
Leave it.
Down.
Walking on a leash.
Sit/stay.
Sit.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SWVhmbivjSI/AAAAAAAAAH0/5sygI3d4tWs/s200/1-sit-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288740650272918818" />

He also did an eighth command - he was real good at: shake!
After all four dogs showed off their amazing knowledge - of course Rudy did the best (not that I am partial or anything), all the dogs got their graduation certificate. Each dog was called up to the "stage" (the chair I am sitting in the first picture), had a cap put on, congratulated by the teacher, and then given their certificate. While this was going on she had Pomp and Circumstance playing in the background. It was an absolute hoot!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 160px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SWVdfGvESAI/AAAAAAAAAHE/fB8Raxo840E/s200/1-certificate+-+low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288736126381869058" />

Lisa came out to watch him graduate and graciously took pictures too. So Lisa, her girls, and I hopped in the car at 6 AM (yes, me on the road at 6 AM on vacation!) and drove over to Miami. Here you can see poor pathetic Rudy when he got home - drugged and with a collar.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SV-pARcSa1I/AAAAAAAAAGM/21LtQjSjjGI/s200/collar1-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287130309703396178" />
Rudy has to wear the collar for at least a week so he doesn't lick and open up the cut. And I have to keep the two dogs, who love to play together, separate. He is doing better with the collar but he doesn't like it. At first, he had such a hard time, especially smelling the grass outside as it kept getting stuck in the grass and he had to back up to get unstuck.

Here's a picture of Lisa and her girls, Madeline and Katie. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SV-pt6Isn6I/AAAAAAAAAGc/ehcbcVJKnGE/s200/millers-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287131093721194402" /> After we dropped Rudy off, we walked the beach for a short while and then went to Sawgrass Mills and did some shopping. I decided I wanted a second dog. My mom found Toby in Lake Placid. He is a beautiful, 10 month old yorkie. Rudy and Toby get along sooo well. They just love to play together. It is a hoot to watch them chase each other and tumble - or as I call it have wrestle mania (there are many rounds each day). As you can see in the picture, they get along so well they can eat off the same plate.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SVwKeobRqCI/AAAAAAAAAFk/0hMoL6cEEHs/s200/boys+eating-3+mp.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286111583990294562" />

They try to get the same toy from each other (even though there are about 20 toys to choose from).
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 160px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SVwLPvmON5I/AAAAAAAAAFs/ca19wk5Q-o0/s200/boys+playing+-+low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286112427728844690" />

And then they collapse and sleep peacefully...
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SVwLvbOfoTI/AAAAAAAAAF0/mAiTXDyKpZ0/s200/boys+sleeping-3p.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286112972016427314" />

However, I have come to realize that I don't know if I am a 2 dog person and I have placed an ad in the paper to sell Toby. He is a good dog and they play so well together that I wasn't sure at first. I know Rudy is going to miss Toby but I think it will be better. If he doesn't sell then, I guess I will become a 2 dog person!

Jesus's birthday!

Last week was Christmas - Jesus birthday! God stirred in my heart and so I checked it out some. At first, I didn't know if this is something God wanted me to do but I started the process. I have come to realize this is going to be a new ministry for me so I am very excited at what God is going to do. Also, I am really scared - but what new mom isn't. At first I wasn't sure if this is really what God wanted for me, but things have just fallen into place that God has reassured me that He wants me to do this for Him - to take care of some of His children in need. As of today I am nearing the end of the process to get licensed - just some paperwork to wait on. Terry from FBCH gave us a date of about Feb 1st of when I should have my license. I am cleaning out the purple room to get it ready. I am slowly trying to acquire some toys to get ready. Most importantly I am praying for wisdom and strength. Please pray for this new ministry.

My birthday...

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SVv_HRCk9jI/AAAAAAAAAEU/ju_HFByzm8s/s200/ivecindyat+pinchers.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286099087947789874" />

Yeah yeah yeah I know... my birthday was a month and a half ago but I just never got around to posting about it and I have wanted to. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SVv_PvuuK7I/AAAAAAAAAEc/n90ZphhZK_c/s200/angie+cropped.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286099233624959922" /> I turned 40 this year and had the nicest birthday in a long long time. I have some wonderful friends who really made me feel very special. I had a "birthday weekend" and on top of that - it was 3 weekends in a row. I already talked about Angie and Ive taking me to Pinchers the week before my birthday. That was such a blessing. Since Angie took the pictures, I only have this one of Ive and I. I wanted Angie in here too.. so I found this 3 year old pic - we need to take some together Angie!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SVwBfrRVymI/AAAAAAAAAFE/9XYK1st069o/s200/ivemeat+iguna-low.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286101706329148002" />
The weekend of my birthday, Ive and I went to check out some scrapbooking things and then to Iguna Mia to get my free meal and of course the sombrero (got to love the sombrero!). It was yet another sweet evening of fun and friendship - and of course the free chocolate cake!

Of course I can't forget my team at work who helped celebrate at school. I am blessed to have an amazing team to work with and share life with.

I think I got it all. Three weekends of celebrating - woo hoo!
Thank you all for making this year a special time. How much He wants to spend time with me, talk with me, and just love me. I have known for many many years about His love for me (and for you) but recently I have been floored with that knowledge. I have a renewed desire to read His word, pray, and be in His presence. At church recently Todd talked about dying to self and gave the real example of how he needed to die to sleep to spend time with God. That's so what I needed to hear. That is my new prayer and ambition - to die to sleep by getting up earlier and seeking Him first thing. I just love to sleep so it's always been hard to get up even a minute before I have to. Now I am working on getting up and seeking God - pursuing intimacy first thing. I know God is going to bless my efforts and most importantly, our relationship is going to grow and get stronger. I heard a great saying at church on Sunday: "Stop determining your blessings by your circumstances. Consider the blessing that I have God no matter what." Isn't that great! Helps me totally refocus back to the One who is the giver of blessings and off my life.
Well I thought I would list a few of my blessings:

1. God. Don't even know what to add to that - that thought/blessing is so encompassing and yet complete. It amazes me daily that He loves me soooo much period. I don't have to do anything to make Him love me more or even less. He's just there - looking out for me - loving me.

2. Family - I don't see them much or have a huge family but boy do I love them all. I won't see them today, but I am thinking about them all, with tears in my eyes. I am thankful I have a great family, that though we aren't real close, they are always there for me.

3. Friends - God has blessed me with such amazing friends: some near and some far, some new and some tried and true - but all a blessing. So many invited me to dinner today and that was awesome. Beth even threatened to drive all the way down here from St. Pete and take me up there if I didn't have anywhere to go (Though, Beth, I don't know if you would really do it - as you had to bake like a billion loaves of bread and pounds and pounds of potato casserole, but the sentiment was there and meant a lot).

4. Rudy - Gosh he drives me crazy sometimes with his HUGE puppy energy and never ending biting but he has been a joy. He is curled up in my lap right now and is a great companion. I am sure one day he will sit still enough long enough to cry with me and let me tell my silly stories to him. I still miss Remi terribly but God sure blessed me with Rudy.

5. My job and the stable income it provides - I am loving going to work, teaching kids. I am also thankful that in the times we are in that I have a stable income which allows me to pay my bills and not have to worry like some are having to worry. My new mantra lately has been - I didn't have it good when it was good, but I am not having it bad when it is bad. Thank you God for a good job with a stable income.

Well I am sure I could write for a while about the blessings God has given me, but I need to go make the rolls to take to Tracey's where I am having Thanksgiving dinner. I am not sure how good they will be, or even if they are rising like they should but I am working on it. They just may not be a blessing today! ha!
Happy Thanksgiving all!

Antlers or Antennas? and the latest Rudy adventures...

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 178px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SSDa6ceEFHI/AAAAAAAAAD8/uf6ADOfYEnA/s200/antlers+-blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269452261633037426" />
So are these antlers (though a little early for Santa) or are they alien antennas? Rudy's ears are not standing up yet, so I took him to the vet to get them checked out - I wasn't even sure if it was too early yet (he was 13 weeks when I took him). The vet just wanted to try out how long Rudy would keep the tape on his ears if we were to tape them up, and this is the result. He actually left them taped all day and I took it off right before bed - though the gaze inside that tape had already been pulled. So by the end of the day, the antlers were really sagging.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 160px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SSDayGJf7sI/AAAAAAAAAD0/nHKarO09hHc/s200/belly+band-blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269452118202248898" />
We are continuing to work on house breaking and he does pretty good - well ok. He knows what to do outside but he will still go in the house. Thus he now wears the belly band or puppy diapers as some call it. This is so I don't have to clean up as many messes - though it seems like I am washing out the band alot!

Finally, we have started puppy classes this last Wed. It lasts for 8 weeks and hopefully it will teach me how to train Rudy - as you know the class is really for me not Rudy! We have learned one command so far - look - and he is great with it (even if he is just "looking" at the treat!). We have homework to practice the look command 3 times a day/ 10 times each session. The class is interesting as I am training with a clicker. When he does what he is supposed to, I click and he gets a treat. Thus he loves that clicker! Hopefully by the end of the class, he will be going outside, walking on a leash (verses being dragged on a leash), looking, coming, and staying. Stay tuned for updates!

Desiring intimacy

For a while now my intimacy with God is not what it once was, but I want it to return. Actually I want it to be deeper than ever. So...I have a new prayer for my life - I want an unquenchable thirst for my God. I want to desire Him more than anything. I want God to be the first thought of my day and the last thought as I drift off at night, along with being consumed with Him during the day. I want to desire Him so much that I need to rush home to spend some time with Him, just as I rush home to see and spend time with my puppy.
So, if you have stumbled upon this post, please help me pray to seek my God with utmost earnestness.

Taco soup

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iKD90_OSym8/SReitOadH5I/AAAAAAAAADc/vZUSj9DzJXc/s200/taco+soup+1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5266857187079954322" />

I just had the best soup and I thought I would share. I have been craving since I first had it on Halloween. I got the recipe from a dear friend - thanks Tracey! Sooo yummy!

Santa Fe Soup

2 lbs. ground beef or turkey
1 onion, chopped
2 (.5 oz) Ranch dressing mix
2 (1 ¼ oz.) Taco mix
1 – 16 oz. can black beans, undrained
1 – 16 oz. can kidney beans, undrained
1 – 16 oz. can pinto beans, undrained
1 – 16 oz. can diced tomatoes with chilies, undrained
1 – 16 oz. can tomato wedges, undrained
(I used plain diced tomatoes since I couldn’t find wedges and I didn’t feel like cutting them.)
2 – 16 oz. can white corn, undrained
2 cups water

Cook meat and onion together until meat is browned. Stir in Ranch and taco seasonings into meat. Add remaining ingredients with juices from all. Add water and simmer for 2 hours.

Garnishes: sour cream, shredded cheese, sliced green onions, Fritos or tortilla chips.
This makes a ton of soup. Freeze extra for later.
Once the soup was in my bowl I put cheddar cheese on top and had fritos with it. He is a 13 week old puppy who is a ball of fire. He was a rescue dog so I am not completely sure what kind of dog he is. My vet thinks he is a cairn terrier (Toto!). He sure does keep me on my toes! He loves his toys and I have bought many for him (to keep him from chewing on things he shouldn't!) Though he loves to cuddle also. We took at nap today and he is definitely learning how nice it is to sleep on the bed. (He sleeps in his crate at night.) I woke up from the nap and he was asleep on his back with his feet in the air! More updates to follow.

Beginning......

Well.... here goes a new adventure. I thought I would try to blog and see how well I keep up with it. I know I am not nearly as articulate and creative as most bloggers but I thought I could just ramble. I will probably write a lot about my God, my new puppy, Rudy, and other things that come into my life. If anyone is reading this I hope they don't get too bored.
